We also prayed for Peter and Amber Finken as their son Caleb was stillborn, and for Ian & Denise Rude’s friends who were hospitalized after a house fire.
Sunday, September 28 Adult Bible Study: 9:40am in the Social Hall. Join us for the conclusion of a two-part study by Pastor Soule entitled “Scripture Alone—Modern Challenges to the Bible.”
Annual Mission Support Make/Bake Sale: Sunday, September 28. Proceeds from this sale are given as Mount Olive’s contribution to the Women’s Mission Rally on October 18. Donations in the form of checks can be made out to Mount Olive Lutheran Church, with “make/bake sale” in the memo.
At the September 28 voters’ meeting, Mount Olive members will be asked to decide on two items:
1. Review and approve the drafted bylaws for the new school entity, and
2. Elect four members to serve on the first Executive Council.
The meeting will be held in the sanctuary starting at 12:15 PM. Please take time to read the draft in advance and prepare any questions. A copy of the bylaws was emailed to all members on September 23; paper copies are available on the narthex table. Many other updates will be provided by the GIC committee. We encourage all members to attend this important meeting as we take the next steps in advancing our Christian School.
Dear Members of Mount Olive Lutheran Church,
After much deliberation, the Mount Olive Church Council recommends the following four names to represent Mount Olive on the Executive Council of the new school entity (Newco): Mark Smith, Bill Bohning, Silas Born, and David Reagles.
I apologize for getting these names out to the voters so late. One of the blessings of Mount Olive is that there are many gentlemen who would do a fine job on this Executive Council, and that made it rather difficult to sift down to four names.
Respectfully submitted,
Ben Tweit, Chairman of the Congregation
Artemis Kick-off Event: Sunday, September 28, 6-9 pm at the Wow Zone. Students ages 12-18 can enjoy unlimited bowling, laser tag, and mini golf. Cost: $10/person. Check the poster on the narthex bulletin board for more information.
For more updates and all other new announcements, pick up your copy of the October edition of the Olive Press from the narthex table.
